September Favourites

Well friends, we have finally made it to Autumn which is my second favourite season after spectacular Spring. Autumn is buzzing with promise and excitement for Halloween and Bonfire Night and Christmas, and while the weather turns to grim, it’s expected so we don’t have the dissappointment of Summer and we can embrace jumpers and boots galore.

Just like in January, September is a month where som eo fus set good intentions and try to change our habits for the better. September is also known in some circles as Organic September! The campaign is all about raising awareness of the incredible benefits organic farming can bring for our climate, for wildlife and our health ahead of the COP26 climate summit. Off the back of this great initiative, which also coincides with Recycle Week and the World Food Programme’s #stopthewaste, I thought I’d share my planet-friendly themed favourites. This round up features some old and new favourites that all do a little bit of good!

Who Gives a Crap?

This recycled toilet roll has been one of the harder swaps because it isn’t as soft on the bum as  normal loo roll and it’s a little more expensive but it’s much softer on the environment so if you can afford it it’s a good swap to make. 

Detox Kitchen

These small-batch, healthy ready meals are a lifesaver on nights I don’t have the time or inclination to cook but want something healthy and nourishing. They’re made from the best seasonal produce and absolutely no nasties. 

Smol Eco Cleaning

I now subscribe to their washing and dishwasher tablets which are cheaper and more environmentally friendly than their mainstream counterparts. This is a great way to eliminate some plastic from your life. 

Moving Mountains 

Of all the meat alternatives there are, I think burgers are the ones that are doing the most. Alongside Meatless Farm, I think these Moving Mountain burgers are seriously good. 

Brush’d

These replacement toothbrush heads are recyclable so they’re a great way to reduce your single-use plastic consumption. They arrive with a pre-paid envelope to send them back to be repurposed, and they’re cheaper than standard replacements too!

Goodbye Clingfilm

I am obsessed with these silicone reusable lids which we often now use instead of clingfilm as much as we can to cover cans and bowls. Simply wash and use them again and again.
