August Favourites

As the worst August in living memory finally comes to the end (sun, where were you?!?!), we move into Auturm where bad weather becomes par for the course and we embrace it wholeheartedly with chunky knitwear. There were a few bright spots in August though, so here’s my round up of the things that brought joy to my August.

Cevice Tacos @ Seacontainers

The best thing I ate this month has to be the seabags ceviche tacos at SeaContainers drenched in fresh lime juice. They were so fresh and zingy with the salty crunch of the taco shell I could have eaten 100. 

Tequila & Food Pairing

I recently went to a dinner that paired tequila with food so I now have a renewed appreciation for tequila and just how versatile it is.

I have tried the entire Pasta Evangelists menu and have found that the beef shin Malfalde and the tomato rigatoni are the two that I love the most. Malfalde is my new favourite shape!

Taiwanese Fried Chicken

I recently had a pinch-me moment as I got to work with Chinatown on a project. It was so much fun and while there I discovered Taiwanese fried chicken! So light, crispy and moreish.

Knock Knock by Smith & Brock 

This family-run company deliver fresh, seasonal ingredients right to your door. Their ‘seasonal special’ box features produce you won’t find in the supermarket and is a great way to try something new and appreciate what’s in abundance right now. 

Fabrique Bakery

After so long I finally tried Fabrique (they’re usually sold out of everything when I go) and while I didn’t love the cardamon bun as much as I wanted to, the vanilla sugar buns are divine. 

Handpicked at Home

I didn’t expect to love this recipe box as much as I did - it was great! The food was delicious, the portions generous and the preparation was the easiest of all the boxes I’ve tried. 10/10 would recommend.

Jinro Soju

My new favourite way to drink beer is how the Korean’s often do; with a shot of soju dropped inside. It adds a refreshing new dimension to the beer that I LOVE. 

Meda CBD

Meda just launched a new ‘Relax’ CBD drink which is a still drink that reminds me a little of iced tea. I also love their ‘Glow’ flavour which is sparking and super refreshing.
